Back in the Swing
Happy New Year to you! This is my official start to blogging in 2007, and I have another post up today too. I thought I should do a bit of a check-in post here since I know folk have been coming here looking for something new.
I ended up having a marvellous Christmas - lots of laughter and a very relaxed time with my family. I've been to the beach - last time was a couple of days ago and it was glorious. The pohutakawa trees along the beach front are all in bloom, as are the ones on the cliffs. So there are these gorgeous red flowers everywhere. More people around than the rest of the year, but not too many. It's stil quite easy to find a shady tree to sit under while looking out across the bay. Not quite hot enough for me to go swiming yet, but some people have been. I love this time of year.
I've also got a pile of books I'm reading, which you will hear more about in the future.
My health has improved, and in fact I think I am over the problem. As you know I was feeling wonky before Christmas. I was not on top form physically at Christmas but I think I am in the clear now. It didn't stop me from having a very enjoyable time on the day. I'm being cautious because at one point before Christmas I thought I was over it but wasn't recovered. However I feel pretty much back to my old self - or should I say new self? Thankyou so much those of you who were supportive on that. You're the salt of the earth.
As for blogging, I'm very much wanting to keep Allthings2all on track with what I envisioned over 3 years ago when I started it. I write about what interests me and don't restrict that to one particular group of people. A lot of people read the posts here, and not everyone shares the same faith or beliefs as me. That kind of interaction on the cyber highways is one thing I love about this medium, and a focus I want to keep at the forefront.
I've also reflected on how I have been reading some blogs for a long time now, and how much I've gained through reading some of them. I don't think anyone imagines very far ahead when they begin a blog - it takes on it's own journey really. It's a privilege following some-one else's journey over time and I appreciate it.
Ok - just a shortish post to let you now I'm back and have made a resolution to blog more often this year. Sometimes I need to just write it as I think it. And I'm looking forward to hearing from folk and catching up with you too. Back in the swing.
