At This Very Moment
Move over reality tv - blogs are better. La Shawn tagged me for this and it suits my mood. Had a day at the end of the week where little things I said felt like they turned into double foot in mouth, and little things other people said set off a recording in my brain, "The sky is falling!". Very relieved this morning to see the sky still in place. And I'm in a chill out mood. So here's my reality check at this very moment:
1. Are you craving anything and if so, what?
A spinach and mushroom pie. Which I had for lunch yesterday. I really love them. Or a steak and cheese pie. But I'm out of pies and don't want to buy what I don't actually need so I will be settling for toasted egg sandwiches. Which I also like a lot. Basically it's lunchtime and I'm hungry.
2. What is the weather outside, and do you wish it would change?
Pale blue sky, slightly overcast, unlike the glorious radiant blue earlier this morning. It's September, which means it's Spring! That means lots of cute lambs leaping about the place, since we have about 80 million sheep here. It also means I didn't mention lamb and mint pie in what I'm craving because I'm a sensitive soul. And how could I live with the mass bleating that would occur if I uttered such a thing?
3. What two websites do you think you will go to next after you are finished here?
My computer is doing a John Cleese so the next stop is most likely going to be electrical engineer guy who said he could fix it in half an hour. He hasn't heard the noise its making. I think the Iran nuclear weapons problem may be fixed before my computer is. If it holds out I want to stop by Rebecca Writes. She's been away and I missed her. She lives in the Yukon - fantastic photos on her blog. Also Rachel at Precipitation, a fellow Kiwi who just arrived in the US on holiday and is staying with another blogger. I want to see if she's posted about it.
4. Do you wish you were somewhere else and if so, where?
Right now I'd like to be in Western Australia, sitting on the banks of Swan River watching the black swans glide by. I've done that in the past - very relaxing and peaceful. Otherwise I'd like to be in the Amazon. Nothing like a 50ft long snake and a spider as big as your hand to get life's little irritations into perspective.
5. Do you wish you were someone else, and if so, who?
I don't want to be some-one else all the time, but at this very moment I'd like to be Eric Morecambe. I loved that guy (still do). From Eric:
"My neighbour asked if he could use my lawnmower and I told him of course he could, so long as he didn't take it out of my garden."
To conductor Andre Previn:
"I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order."
Which sums up my view of the world right now (she says looking earnestly into the camera).
And now the tagging dilemma... I'd like to make it open to anyone, and will put some names for starters but I don't want to exclude anyone: Violet, Chel, Eric, Anne, John, and You. As long as you don't take my lawnmower out of my garden. How are you at this very moment?
How they are right now: Chel at Chasing Contentment, Eric at The Fire Ant Gazette, John at Blogotional, Anne at Anne's Cafe, Violet at promptings.
Just a note - my posting may be a bit sporadic with the current John Cleese in the hard drive problem. Disappointing. I wanted the knights who say ni!
Quick update: It's fixed. Sort of.
