Scene and Herd: 4-AUG-05
Been a little while since I've done a Scene and Herd. Offline events have had me occupied, and a few online events too. Sometimes it is worthwhile stopping and getting a clear connection spiritually. Yep, one of those weeks. Speaking of online events, a few highlights worth mentioning...
Tradition as DNA: Charlie Lehardy of Another Think explores an interesting metaphor - human social traditions as "DNA", and how tinkering with the innate blueprint is ill-advised. Great post, in which progressivism is examined as both a positive influence and a detrimental interference. Do we really progress at all?
Blogger High Recently Kim at The Upward Call had this wonderful post in which she humourously analyses different groups of blogs. This part cracked me up:
Can you guess which group? Are you in it?
Opportunity... I was invited to become a contributor for Pro-Life Blogs, and took up the offer. I haven't posted there yet. The opportunity has come from discussion about the fact that genocide is a pro-life issue. So I will be able to post my Darfur posts there, as well as having the same posts here. Great!
Meanwhile, I've been thinking about drugs, dance parties, postmodernism, poetry, and computer hardware, and posted Reactivity and the New Romantics (or see the post below).

"These bloggers are the ones who get comments in their boxes that require translation. Some of the comments are blogs unto themselves. Sometimes hand-to-hand combat is involved."
