Terri Schiavo's Feeding Tube Removed

This post has been updated with more information.
Terri Schiavo's feeding tube has been removed. This post from Pro-Life Blogs states:
That Terri's parents were asked to leave Terri's room. Michael Schiavo was present when the feeding tube was removed. Jodi's brother, J. Centonze stepped out of Michael's and Jodi's house in Clearwater and told reporters that Terri's feeding tube had been removed.
...Schiavo said he allowed a prayer service without the family present.
Terri's parents were asked to leave their daughter's room at 1:45 PM ET. Her last initial feeding began at 11:00 AM ET. She had some nutrition provided before Judge Greer ordered her feeding tube removed stated Barbara Weller, Attorney for the Gibbs firm.
Terri's parents are very upset."
From the Associated Press report:
"The removal came amid a flurry of maneuvering by Schiavo's parents, state lawmakers and Congress to keep her alive. Committees in the Republican-controlled Congress issued subpoenas for Schiavo, her husband, and her caregivers demanding that they appear at hearings on March 25 and March 28. But the judge presiding over the case later refused a request from House attorneys to delay the removal, which he had previously ordered to take place at 1 p.m. EST."
Death by starvation and dehydration is expected to take two weeks. This post from Pro-Life Blogs reports Terri's reaction to hearing that she would no longer be fed:
"Attorney Barbara Weller was with Terri earlier today. She told the media that, during her visit with Terri, she explained to her what was happening. According to Weller, Terri began to cry and could not be quieted."
There have previously been reports that Michael Schiavo will gain financially from an insurance policy in the event of Terri's death. This Feb 23 report from Axcess News states that Michael Schiavo "stands to gain hundreds of thousands from a life insurance policy on her death." This report from Nov 1 2003 states:
"A guardian ad litem has not been appointed in the case since 1999 when a Clearwater attorney appointed by the court recommended that Michael Schiavo not be allowed to disconnect his wife's feeding tube. At the time, the attorney said Michael Schiavo's statements that his wife did not want to be kept alive artificially could not be corroborated by other witnesses and that Michael Schiavo stood to inherit hundreds of thousands of dollars if his wife died."
Michael Schiavo has refused to answer questions regarding an insurance policy on Terri, and his attorney George Felos has denied that a policy exists.
As I calmly write this so that you will know the news, I cannot say which emotion I feel the strongest - horror, outrage, or sadness. Immanuel - God is with her in this time of darkness. And so are our prayers.
